I availed the services of Novacare at 201 N. Craig St, Pittsburgh last year and walked away disappointed. The physician Dr Matthew P Shedlock, seemed OK, but the whole place seemed like a commercial enterprise. Since the first day, our discussions were not about therapy, but how much the insurance company would allow. The final straw was when I received my bill from High-mark. Clearly, I was overcharged. It listed procedures that I never had. The average electrical massage sessions that I had were of 15 mins. But they were shown as 30 min on paper. I was given a exercise printout by Dr Matt Shedlock, and was totally bummed to see a charge of $180 for that piece of paper. Btw, I eventually discontinued my physical therapy sessions with them as they were not helping either. So yes, I spend roughly $500 bucks for nothing. US is supposed to be costly for health, but it is bad when organizations like Novacare just treat it as a commercial enterprise forgetting that they are healthcare providers.
